18 ct gold
Rolex, which owns its own casting facility, boasts exceptional technology for casting the highest quality 18 ct gold alloy. By varying the amounts of silver, copper, platinum, and palladium mixed, different types of 18 ct gold can be created: yellow, pink, and white. The extremely pure metals that serve as raw materials for these alloys are meticulously inspected at the company's research laboratory, which is equipped with the latest facilities. Subsequently, the manufacturing and molding of the gold alloy are carried out with the same meticulous attention. Rolex's relentless pursuit of perfection in watchmaking extends to the raw materials as well.
Blue Dial
The dial, which boasts high uniqueness and visibility, is the face of Rolex. It features hour markers made of 18 ct gold that are resistant to discoloration. All Rolex dials are designed and manufactured in-house, with most processes done by hand to ensure perfection.
Oyster Bracelet
The Oyster bracelet is a perfect fusion of form and function, beauty and technology, characterized by its robust structure and comfortable fit. The Oysterlock clasp on the bracelet prevents accidental opening. Additionally, the innovative Glidelock allows for length adjustment of the bracelet without the use of tools, ensuring a safe and comfortable fit even over a diving suit.
3135 Movement
This model is equipped with the Caliber 3135, a mechanical self-winding movement developed and manufactured exclusively by Rolex. Like all of Rolex's perpetual movements, the Caliber 3135 is chronometer certified, having passed the tests of the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC), awarded only to high-precision watches. This movement is equipped with a Parachrom hairspring, providing excellent resistance to shocks and temperature changes. Its structure boasts exceptional reliability, just like all Oyster watch movements.
Unidirectional Rotating Bezel
The unidirectional rotating bezel is an essential feature for the Submariner. The bezel is marked with a 60-minute scale, allowing divers to measure dive time and decompression stops accurately and safely. Made from highly corrosion-resistant hard ceramic, this Cerachrom bezel insert manufactured by Rolex is virtually scratch-proof. The zero marker features a luminous material capsule, making it clearly visible in the dark. The notches on the edge of the bezel are meticulously designed for reliable operation underwater, even while wearing gloves.
