Champagne Color Dial
Watch Manufacturing Technology
The sunray finish brings delicate reflections of light to many dials in the Oyster Perpetual collection. This is achieved through a skilled brushing technique that creates grooves from the center of the dial outward. Light is evenly diffused along each engraving, producing a distinctive shine that slightly shifts according to the position of the wrist.
Once the sunray finish is complete, color is applied to the dial through physical vapor deposition or electroplating. A light coating of varnish is applied to complete the final appearance of the dial.
Model Features
Fluted Bezel
Symbol of Rolex
The Rolex fluted bezel is a symbol of excellence. Originally, the notches in the Oyster bezel served a functional purpose by screwing the bezel into the case to ensure the watch's waterproof performance. Therefore, the notches are also applied to the case back and were screwed into the case using Rolex's unique tools for the same reason of maintaining waterproof performance. Over time, the notches of the bezel became a design element and a symbol of Rolex. Today, the fluted bezel is a symbol of excellence and is made only of gold.
Yellow Rolesor
Meeting of Two Metals
The enchanting glow and elegance of gold. The robustness and reliability of steel. Each characteristic merges to create a wonderful harmony. The iconic Rolex model, Rolesor, was adopted in the early 1930s and officially trademarked in 1933. It forms the core of the Oyster collection.
Jubilee Bracelet
Flexible and Comfortable
Rolex's bracelet and clasp designs, development, manufacturing, and the rigorous testing imposed on the products utilize cutting-edge high-tech technology. Additionally, like all components of the watch, perfect beauty is guaranteed through human inspection. The Jubilee, a flexible and comfortable five-link metal bracelet, was specially designed for the launch of the Oyster Perpetual Datejust in 1945.
Cyclops Lens
Magnifying Lens
One of the most recognizable features of Rolex at first glance. Named after the one-eyed giant from Greek mythology, the Cyclops lens enhances visibility and magnifies the watch's iconic date display by 2.5 times. Like other features of Rolex watches, the Cyclops lens embodies a history of invention, research, development, and an unrelenting quest for perfection.
Caliber 2236
Ultimate Performance
The Caliber 2236 is a new generation of mechanical self-winding movement developed and manufactured entirely in-house by Rolex. It features a patented silicon Syloxi hairspring that provides high-level chronometer performance. The Syloxi hairspring is highly resistant to magnetism, maintains exceptional stability even when exposed to temperature changes, and achieves ten times the shock resistance of traditional hairsprings. Its patented shape ensures isochronism in all positions.
